EBA Dnipro Business Breakfast: Labour inspections

22.09.2017, 10:00am - 12:00pm

Informed means well armed! That was the purpose, the Business Breakfast of the Association in the Dnipro was held on Friday, September 22. The subject of the meeting was: "Checking labour relations or promised raids of labor inspectors: What? Where? When? How to meet "guests"? ". The EBS representatives, Yevheniya Voznyuk, Partner, Head of HR Services Practice, and Yulia Ivanets, Senior Associate were the speakers of the meeting.

Indeed, the substantial penalties that are in place today for non-compliance with labour law conditions encourage companies to study the new Ukrainian labour legislation in more detail. After all, for example, for non-fulfillment of the conditions of annual indexation of wages a fine may reach 32 000 UAH, and for each undeclared worker up to 96 000 UAH.

During the meeting, the colleagues have found out the types of inspections that exist. They have also learned what to do when the inspector shows up and how to teach the employees to behave competently and confidently during an interview with the inspectors. Moreover, they were tought: how to distinguish the real inspector from the crook, what has changed in ways of obtaining information for inspections, by what means the State Service for Labour is guided while taking a deciding to check one or another enterprise, as well as what information can now become the basis for inspections.

Also, the participants introduced the new, but very relevant concept - "labour compliance", and how the creation of such a department can help to avoid problems and improve the company's protection.

We thank EBS experts for the rich report, they had shared, as well as for many practical examples and answers to questions that disturb the audience.
